Employers negotiate contracts every week. Most physicians negotiate a handful in a career.

That gap shows up in your wRVU rate, call pay, noncompete, and termination terms, and it compounds every year you're under that contract. We close the gap before you sign.

Why AxisMD

We only represent physicians.

We take no fees from employers, recruiters, or health systems. Our only interest is your outcome.

We've sat on the other side of the table.

Our team has run physician groups and health system service lines, so we know how employers build offers and where they have room to move.

You stay in control of the relationship.

We don't negotiate for you. We prepare you to negotiate, including mock negotiations where we play the employer, so you walk in confident and walk out with the relationship intact.

How it works

From first read to signed contract

  1. 1
    Free consultation

We learn your situation and timeline and quote a flat fee.

  2. 2
    Contract review

We flag every term that affects your pay, schedule, and future options.

  3. 3
    Benchmarking

We compare your offer against national compensation and productivity data such as MGMA, AMGA, and SullivanCotter.

  4. 4
    Negotiation plan

A written recommendation: your asks, the data behind each one, and a priority order.

  5. 5
    Mock negotiation

We play the employer so you can practice before the real conversation.

  6. 6
    Support through signing

We review counteroffers and revised drafts as they come back.

Business and legal review, in one place

Most physicians need two reviews. We coordinate both, so you get one plan and one timeline. Work with one of our partner healthcare attorneys, or bring your own.

Questions physicians ask us

When should I get my contract reviewed?

Before you sign anything, including a letter of intent. Terms are easiest to change before you've agreed in principle.

Will negotiating hurt my relationship with my new employer?

Done well, no. Employers expect physicians to negotiate. Because you lead the conversation and we stay in the background, it stays professional.

What is a fair wRVU rate for my specialty?

It depends on specialty, region, and practice setting. We benchmark your offer against national compensation and productivity data such as MGMA, AMGA, and SullivanCotter.

Can I negotiate my noncompete?

Often, yes. Radius, duration, and buyout terms are common points of negotiation, and some states now limit physician noncompetes.

Do I still need a lawyer?

Yes. You can work with one of our partner healthcare attorneys or use your own. Legal review is priced separately and can be bundled with any AxisMD package.

How fast can you review my contract?

Standard reviews take 5 business days. Urgent reviews can be done in as little as 24 hours.

Do you work with physicians outside Texas?

Yes. We work with physicians and advanced practice providers across the US.

One conversation could change the next five years of your contract.
